My name is Maddie Hallowell and I am a senior at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. I grew up on a small island off the coast of Maine. I am an interdisciplinary major and I’m interested in using technology to learn about the environment. I have been working on making a sensor that measures the temperature of the ocean in Maine. I hope that my research can help prevent climate change. I enjoy going on hikes, spending time on the water, and being in nature. I also love music and I can play the ukulele and sing. I loved reading comic books and graphic novels when I was a kid. The Calvin and Hobbes books still make me laugh.
